Controlled Substances Policy

At Luvra, we are committed to providing safe, responsible, and ethical medical care. As part of this commitment, we do not prescribe or refill any controlled substances.

What This Means

We do not evaluate or treat conditions requiring medications classified as controlled substances, including (but not limited to):

  • Stimulants (e.g., Adderall, Ritalin, Concerta)

  • Benzodiazepines (e.g., Xanax, Ativan, Valium)

  • Narcotic pain medications (e.g., Norco, Oxycodone, Tramadol)

  • Sedative-hypnotics (e.g., Ambien, Lunesta)

  • Cannabis or THC-containing products

  • Medications for opioid use disorder (e.g., Suboxone, Methadone)

We also do not provide treatment for substance use disorders.

Why We Don’t Prescribe These Medications

Controlled substances are regulated by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) due to their potential for abuse, dependence, and misuse. These medications require in-person evaluation, long-term monitoring, and close supervision — all of which are outside the scope of telehealth-only care.

While Luvra Clinic is built for convenience and accessibility, we prioritize your safety above all else. That includes staying compliant with state laws, federal guidelines, and evidence-based clinical standards.

What You Can Do Instead

If you believe you may need one of these medications, we recommend:

  • Speaking with your primary care provider or a local physician

  • Seeking care from a licensed psychiatrist or addiction medicine specialist

  • Visiting an in-person clinic that can safely prescribe and monitor controlled substances

For all other non-controlled medications and preventive services, Luvra is here to help — clearly, securely, and without unnecessary steps.
